Lions Lookout
Want to get a different look of the festival? Check out the view from the Lions lookout across the Athabasca River. Take highway 813 north, after the bridge turn left at the first approach. Follow the road left and continue on it around to the top of the hill.
Hike or bike our trails
Head south on the Trans Canada Trail south of town. Explore the Muskeg Creek Trails which are considered to be one of small town Alberta’s best municipal trail systems. Maps for trails are available from the visitor information Centre.
History talk and tours
Make sure to partake in the heritage tours that the Athabasca Heritage Society will be offering. Walking booklets are also available from the visitor information centre.
