His band was awarded the Back Up Band of the Year award on Sunday evening as well.
Prevost is now a 3 time SCMA Entertainer of the Year award winner and feels this award has to be shared with his touring band and sound crew. “Without the band backing me up every night and the road crew setting up and doing sound I wouldn't be able to do what I get to do. So I owe alot to them for all their hard work and dedication” says Prevost.
Known for being one of the hardest working musicians in the country Prevost is ready to take his SCMA accolades to try help him reach that next level in his career. Prevost says “It's great to have that support from my home province. It gives me the confidence to try and take my career to the next level which would be getting nominated for a Canadian Country Music Award.”

The photo above really captures the vivacious energy and homegrown charm of rising Vancouver Island singer, songwriter and all around super woman SHELLY DUBOIS.
In addition to performing tracks from her independently released album of country originals I’m Not Lookin’ Back and heartfelt covers of her favorite songs by other artists Miz Dubois will be bowing some new tunes she has written and some new band members. Joining Maurice Gaudreault on bass guitar is Warren duMailo on drums and Mark Wing on lead guitar and background vocals.
Shelly’s ever evolving website includes a video press kit (very impressive, Ms. Dubois).

Danny Hooper grew up on a cattle ranch in Tomahawk, AB. Mention the name Danny Hooper and most Albertans will respond by saying –“I remember Danny Hooper’s Stockyard”, a nightclub started by Danny and his Father. In the early eighties the Stockyard brought in names such as Tammy Wynette, Merle Haggard, Ray Price and Tom T Hall as main stage performers.
Danny made a change and moved into the business of Real Estate after the Stockyard closed in 1986.
In 1995 he returned fulltime to his first love, the entertainment business.
Since then, he has recorded 5 CDs and performed on The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, at Disneyland in Anaheim, California and the NFR in Las Vegas.
An honors graduate of The Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, MT, Danny Hooper is a professional Fundraising Auctioneer, Master of Ceremonies, Entertainer, Comedian, Motivational Speaker, Radio DJ and Journalist with 37 years experience in the entertainment industry.
As if auctioneering and emceeing 120 events a year does not keep him busy enough Danny is also morning man on 790 CFCW with his co-host Sharon Mallon. Sharon and Danny are CCMA Canadian Radio Personalities of the Year.
Danny Hooper on Page Six in the Edmonton Sun is the latest challenge Danny has taken on. You can read his column each Sunday, Wednesday and Friday for a good dose of humour and interesting stories.
